Introduction and Background

Renewal Vineyard Church is a charismatic evangelical church based in Karen, Nairobi. Renewal was established in October 2018 to help equip an authentic community of believers to adopt the lifestyle practices of Jesus. We provide a home for people who want to explore what it means to practice the way of Jesus for the renewal of our city.

Renewal is a multicultural worshipping community of over 300 adults and children. We value social justice deeply and our work in prisons (AJAR) and alongside sex-workers (Rejesha) reflects our desire to see lives transformed through encounter with Jesus.

AJAR was established in March 2019 as a social justice arm of Renewal Church to address cases of unjust pre-trial detention.  The vision of AJAR is that underprivileged people suffering injustice are released from prison and restored to society.  AJAR does this by offering free legal representation to pre-trial detainees.
